* New Books.

I GOT NEW BOOKS, two new books, to be precise, bringing the total of books I have received this month to a nice five. I am one for psychological books, books that take you out of your mind, and into the one of someone you could never be. . . hopefully. Those are the books are the best in my opinion. I have this weird tendency, when I buy one book heavy, dealing with thick topics, I usually buy something light to read after. . . So I got the book by one of the writers of NEW GIRL (THE BEST SHOW EVERRRRRR) and SNL, which is a promising read. SO. . . . yeah. . .

                             Tease - Amanda Maciel
                             Avg. Rating - 3.74
                             Pages - 328
                             Publisher - Balzer + Bray
                             Release Date - 4.28.1

\This book seems promising, and to be honest, a book that I would love. Told in alternating time periods (Just like in Pandemonium) this book is an interesting look in the mind of a bully in the tale of a bullied victim turned suicidal. I never really thought of the affects this could have on someone else. Can't wait to formally review it.

                                       Firecracker - David Iserson
                                       Avg. Rating - 3.71
                                       Pages - 336
                                       Publisher - Razorbill
                                       Released Date - 5.16.13

This is the book that seems hilarious. There aren't many reviews on this book, surprisingly. This book had been out for over a year, as it seems, though the B&N I had went to classified it as a new release. IDGAF.

NR Contemporary *

                                                                Contemporary

I love contemporary, I love reading books that have been acclaimed, but it seems to me that the best contemporary's are the ones that no one can spoil, those new releases that you devour, page turning, pulse racing, tear jerking books that make you feel like more of a human being. So here are a list of DARK CONTEMPORARIES that I am looking forward to browsing the YA section of Barnes and Noble's. . . Let's get it on.

  • The Truth About Alice - Jennifer Mathieu
           Pages - 208
           Publisher - Roaring Book Press
           Release Date - 6.3.14

               GoodReads

This book seems like the type of book I would love to read, me being a feminist ( And proud ) I love books that deal with the concept of Slut-Shaming, and though I know this book has so much more going on, I love how real it is, how this girl, Alice, is known as a freak, an out cast, a whore, a slut, the epitome of everything bad you can be as a teenage girl, all for her sleeping with two separate guys (Or so they say) I love alternating points of views, well, in contemporary, and I also love mysteries, this book is giving off the same vibe as Love Letters To The Dead, and that book is my favorite book of all time. . . can't wait to read.

  • My Last Kiss - Bethany Neal
          Pages - 358
          Publisher - Straus & Giroux
          Release Date - 6.10.14

             goodreads

What can I say, I'm a sucker for star crossed love stories. And through this, we can most certainly tell that no one will receive their happily ever after, and I also am a sucker for books that leave me less than whole. They just speak to the minority inside of me, so that I root along side the team I know will lose. . . Call me a rebel.

Excited to also find this novel. and read it.

  • Inland - Kat Rosenfield
          Pages - 388
          Publisher - Dutton Juvenile
          Release - 6.12.14

          Goodreads

This I have mixed feelings about, this novel has pretty poor reviews, and I feel like this is a gamble, you can call me Captain Thorne (Cress Reference) I have yet to view any reviews though, because that defeats the purpose of this list. Anyway, the cover is to die for. . .

I hope this list has given you something to review on your own.

Thirteen Reasons Why - Jay Asher

Thirteen Reasons Why - Jay Asher

                                                             Review:

First off, I absolutely loved this book with everything I have in me. I just love this book so much, and anyone who says this book is stupid, or is angered by the inconclusive ending, they need to just . . . not exist. KYS, just kidding. . . but no. I found this book heart breaking, and beautiful, and true in so many ways. I love the way the story is told, and I am in love with the way it progresses. I was just balling the entire time. What can I say, I am an emotional reader.

This book had me all like:

I swear to you, for a good second or two, I couldn't breathe. How from the get go, Hannah is dead, and how it's like a story with in a story, and how it's complex, and UGHHH, everything about this book is amazing. I just can't even. The inside perspective of someone suicidal, and the inside perspective of someone watching this train wreck happen. I just read, and read, and read, and read until there was nothing more to read. The ending to me was pure perfection, though I still wanted a little more. I understand the artistic value. I was just sitting on my bed crying, staring at the book with one thought repeating over and over in my head:

I love this book, so much . . . already said that, but oh well. Read this book. . . It is amazing, and breath        taking, and haunting, and perfect in every single way.

Ignite Me - Tahereh Mafi

                                                       Ignite Me - Tahereh Mafi

                                                       Rating: * * * * *
                                                       Pages: 409
                                                       Publisher: Harpercollins

                                                              Review:

This was an epic conclusion to an amazing trilogy. I find peace with Juliette, fall in love with Warner, and end up hating the guts of Adam. . . like can he not exist? Thank you. The ending was climactic, and though the ending leaves more to be desired, like most trilogies, this one left me somewhat content. I am in love with the romances, the character development, and the stakes. I also fell in love with this world Mafi created, and I want nothing more than the citizens to finally receive the help they need, and Warner and Juliette to marry. . . is it so hard. . .  is it really?

With that being said, this is like my favorite trilogy at the moment. This was an amazing story, and Mafi is a talented writer, and I can't wait to read more from her.

I loved this.

A lot.

The Retribution of Mara Dyer - Michelle Hodkins

           Release Date - 9.4.14

Stance - The final book in a trilogy

I can't wait for this book, I cannot wait. For those of you who have yet to read the Mara Dyer Trilogy, you need to. This book is perf, Noah is perf, Mara is perf, the plot is perf, the entire book is nothing if not PERF. So you sort of kind of need to read it now.

This book comes out in November, the best month ever, (NaNoWriMo) and this is like the only book that I WANT NOW aside from Winter. TBH I might actually  think I would hand over my first born child in order to have an ARC or something so that I am not pacing, awaiting for the grand arrival...

Unravel Me - Tahereh Mafi

                                                          Unravel Me - Tahereh Mafi

                                                          Rating: * * *
                                                          Pages: 461
                                                          Publisher: Harpercollins

                                                                 Reviews

This book was my least favorite in the entire trilogy. Juliette was a pain, and I wanted to kill myself fifty percent of the time, the other half was spent cringing at her and Adam's awfully forced romance. I understand why the author made the main character so weak and fragile, so that there is room for character development, but still I know this book series gets better, I've read the final book, and I loved that book so much. . . And also, the character development is unreal, so this book is worth it.

I love the series over all, and in retrospect, I understand what Mafi was doing here.

World After - Susan Ee

                                                       World After - Susan Ee

                                                        Rating: * * * *
                                                        Pages: 438
                                                        Publisher: Skyscape

                                                            Goodreads

                                                            Review:

I liked this book, I think it's a solid sequel, but like most sequels, this second book in a promising series is n better than the first. I still liked this book, I may even love it, but the first book was just . . . AH. It was amazing.

This book just fell a little short, into the realm of greatness.

I am so excited to see what Ee has left to show us, this book was a twisting and turning book, Penryn being Penryn was a BA as always, and this book was an action pack. A unique feat that I don't find in a lot of Angel books is that this book does not revolve around a love interest. This book does not have a basic premise that drives on an angel for a boyfriend, and a forbidden love, this book is captivating. Augh... Perfection.

I can't wait for the third book, which is an untitled, and is set to be released in 2015, with Winter, the book I WANT NOW. . . but we can't have everything we want.

Patiently waiting for the next book . . . NOT.
