I don't know about you, but my parents didn't just sit around cataloging everything I've ever read, so in all reality, this is just an estimate, a guess, because I am not a person with photo like memories. So the milestones are a lil hazy. But none the less, here are some of the first books I remember reading.
- First picture book? Baby Firsts. I don't know the author, and I am way too lazy to move and obtain the copy I have, but trust me, this book has been on my shelf for EVER. I don't even know if my mom read is as a child. But it is the oldest book on my bookshelf, soooo.
- First book with words? The tale of Rumpelstiltskin by Brothers Grimm. My mother loves that picture book to death, and I remember being fascinated with it, controlled by the curiosity that I will soon be able to decipher the short, sweet looking words, but until then, my mother would have to read it for me.
- First Chapter book? Any Junie B. Jones Novel, you take your pick.
- First nonfiction book? Some weird Brittany Spears biography I have a vague memory of. So, there's that.
- First Completed Series? I am a what you would call rebel, not finishing series if they don't tickle my fancy, so there are a few that I actually finish, and not because society forces me to. The first series would have to be the Junie B. Jones books, but in all honesty, there are so many out there, soooo many, I don't even know if I had made a dent, all that I know is that I've read every single one they offer at my elementary library, and public.
- First Young Adult Novel? This is tricky, in my mind, things don't line up directly, and the dates can and are some hot ass messes.I didn't know of YA then, and I can't justify what I had read then, but here is the first YA book I remember purchasing and reading. That would be 'The Iron King' by Julie Kagawa, I still re-read that book because it is amazing, the first YA series I have finished. Seriously if you love all things fantasy and such, check that book out.
- First trilogy read? Hex Hall, And I loved it. I also love that new release, Rebel Belle. They're both kick ass and such.
And those are the firsts I remember reading. Feel free to check any of those books out, and Toots my Peeps.
