Review:
I think i'm in love with Jenny Han's writing. . . the way it all ties in together, in a full-circle kind of way. How in the first book, the point of view had solely been Belly's, how in the next book it was an alternation of Jeremiah and Belly. How in the last book it was Conrad and Belly. It's all very symbolic.
I also think i'm in love with Conrad, how in the first and second book, I thought he was the embodiment of a prissy bitch. But oh . . . my . . . god. . . I would totally pick him over Jeremiah in a heart beat. The character development was amazing, and how my views have changed on him, the only person I have had that complete 180 on, is Warren, from the Shatter Me Trilogy, but that's another rave for another time.
Let's talk about Jere, for a moment. . . Jere, Jere, Jere, how could you? Cheating on poor, undeserving Belly, the girl you swore you loved. I just wanted to kill you. . . You know how self cautious belly is, how undeserving she feels of you, yet you still decided to hook up with that Blonde bimbo.
And then you proposed. As if that could fix any of the shit you pulled.
Let me just tell you this, I'm Soooooo happy she left your sorry ass for your much hotter older brother.
Soooooo happy.
Another factor of the book I enjoyed was the fact that Belly took a break from the Fisher brothers. How after alternating in between the two, she finally picked up the shattered pieces of her heart, and did the right thing, got the hell out of that environment. It made me feel proud, to some extent. I felt like I was a mother, which is totally rare. But she was my baby. And I watched her bloom, from a girl without a clue in the world, to a girl dominating the world.
And how they had the wedding at the end. . . and the letters . . . and OHH GAWD I"M GOING TO CRY!
On a final. more serious note, I am so pumped to read more by Jenny Han, because she proved that she could write realistic characters facing realistic problems, such as body image issues, with real choices to make. I think that's what gave this trilogy the 'time flying' effect, the fact that the character development is real, and tangible, and there. That, and the flash backs, and memories.
