Book Review:
This review is broken into two parts, The book review, and the movie review. So . . . Let's get started. And here we go. . .
To be honest, my favorite character was Isaac. He was just so amazing, and through out the book, I think he was the character that I related to the most (Not that I'm blind, or anything.)
My grandmother has Breast Cancer, she had it, then she didn't, and now she does again, and seeing her lose hr hair, watching her struggle, residing on her couch, sending her days watching god-awful reality television, and I would find myself wondering what it was like for her. I have been blessed with perfect health, and I cannot even imagine myself in her position.
This was like a glimpse into the world of Cancer was nice, it was like seeing through a window that has a completely different view on an area you have seen before.
I liked that a lot about this book. I like how realistic Hazel is about her situation, though it can get really sad, like when she refers to herself as the 'Side effect' I just wanted to hug her.
But one problem, a tiny, tiny problem that I had with this book was the romance, it was sweet, and swoon worthy, but there are a few loose ends, which I guess I wouldn't have noticed if I hadn't watched this certain video. The question I have with the romance is the legitimacy. It was literally love at first sight, and I know that isn't the focus of the book, but still, isn't anyone wondering? Did they have the relationship because they both thought they were going to die? Did the relationship ignite due to the fact that Augustus thought Hazel was a ghost of his former girlfriend? I don't know. I loved the romance, it just wasn't that well explained, I guess.
The book was nice. I prefer Looking for Alaska, but I guess it's because it was the first book I had read by John green.
So, yeah.
X Ramo.
